Hun i tell ya,i just go to the $1 store and throw the whole tree and ornements out on the 1st of the yr.Thats your best bet, mabey keep the lights though.
Popcorn stringed garlands, fir or pine cones found strewn about in any forest (spray paint them gold or silver if your little heart desires). Pictures of loved ones, sacred pieces of memorabilia. That’s all it takes. Your creation of what is important in your life. For the record, Christmas was not a Christian original. It stemmed from the worship of a pagan god that Chrisitianity couldn’t obliterate but rather turned into a Christian celebration. The tree and the gift thing always has been, always will be that of pagan origin. So whatever you want to do with your tree is entirely up to you. It will be beautiful and uniquely you. No doubt about it.
Make colourful bows out of crepe paper.
Find some small pinecones, paint them & sprinkle with glitter.
Aluminium drink cans cut with scissors easily, cut discs out, snip inwards all the way around, paint, then twist the strips into interesting designs to hang on your tree.
Make tiny boxes, cover them with foil or bright Christmas paper to hang.
Make tiny bon-bons.
Small clusters of dried flowers tied with ribbon.
The sky is the limit.
We bought eggs and little cheap bottles of pink and gold paint. You poke a small hole in the bottom and top of an egg and blow the contents out. It is a lot gross, but really not that hard. Then rinse them out and let them dry. We then painted the eggs pink and decorated them with the gold paint writing our names, the cats names, and other more fancy decorations. Put a small circle of fabric over the top hole, and put a hook through it. We bought white bows at the dollar store, and some thick gold ribbon that we used vertically. We also put gold beads from the dollar store. You could use any or all of these things….makes a really pretty tree. Merry Christmas to you.
you can get 5 ornaments from big w that you can decorate yourself, they usually have them baskets with 50c – $1 decorations as well.. or try a dollar store you’ll be surprised with what they actually have.
I have done simple ornaments with children for years in my daycares. Use cookie cutter to trace shapes on poster board, then use glue/glue stick and glitter of choice to decorate. There are many recipes online to make a simple clay out of flour and water, use the cookie cutters to make and decorate. My first tree I asked my family for ornaments for Christmas and just bought one for my tree the first year and there after bought one new each year until I got married and had kids, then they make new ones each year. Good luck. Merry Christmas!
What I did when I was little, I made them out of embroidary thread. What I did was get some balloons, and different colored thread, and some powdered or liquid starch. blow up the balloons and wrap them with the thread. not too tight though. mix up the startch, I make it a little stronger, thicker than the directions call for. Then you place the wrapped balloons in the starch, coat well, place on paper towell to dry. When they are dry (I let them set over night), pop the balloons and pull it out. Place an ornament hook on it and hang in front of a light!
You can make a paper chain out of construction paper. Red and Green. You can make a popcorn garland chain.
Enjoy!
Merry Christmas!
