How can i get Brass ornaments to remain with the same lustre and brilliance as when just cleaned?

I am tired of cleaning my brass ornaments every month, they are on exhibition, and the brilliance fades so quickly. Is there anything I can rub on them to prevent their fading. Please help.

    Rust-oleum makes a product called “crystal clear enamel.” It comes in an aerosol can and it will leave your polished brass permanently shiny.

    spray with clear lacquer.
