There are several reasons that their system may reject an e-mail address as invalid.

The most common is that you have not entered the e-mail address in the correct form (user@domain.com).

If you have used the correct form, please double-check the spelling of the e-mail address, both the user name (before the @ sign) and the domain name (after the @ sign).

If you’ve checked for both of these common errors and you still receive an error message, here are some other things to check:

Make sure the e-mail address doesn’t contain any spaces or multiple @ signs, or unacceptable characters. Acceptable characters are letters and numbers as well as dash(-), underscore(_), and dot (.).

The domain name (after the @ sign) may include more than one part (e.g. university.california.edu). Acceptable domain name endings include .com, .edu, .gov, .net, .biz, .ca, .tv, and many others.
